OPEC-boosted rally sends oil up for second-straight month

Despite mixed trading in recent sessions, the price of oil has posted a second-consecutive month of gains, largely driven by news about OPEC’s planned output cuts and lower-than-expected production.

Brent crude rose 4% for the month, while West Texas Intermediate crude booked a solid gain of 8%. Short sellers have scrambled to close out their positions as the oil price momentum continues.
